Yes I do! I have had many Jewish friends: one of mentors and best friends in life was Jewish by Ancestry. His family line of Judaism went back to the 1500s and his mother's father was a relatively famous Jew held and released by the Nazis. If you ever have read the Bible .. read the GENEALOGY sections. The Jews were some of the first people to keep track of Lineage because Judaism is form of Theocracy.. they have a faith and also form of government based on their faith. The issue is the Diaspora.. which caused the Jews who were literally forced to flee (from the Levant area to Europe and Russian. and Ukraine.. which is why there are Ashkenazi Jews--the founder of 23 and me.. Both my friend., he died recently and I will send his family gemology book to his cousin in Jerusalem, which I rescued from the small estate sale of his stuff.. and also my first cousin,, her father (also RIP) was a French Jew.. Edward Reinhold married my mother's sister: Esther is from that marriage. When I went to see her I was thinking of having her DNA done: she wears a Star of David. So she is a small per Jewish but identifies as a Jew and like many Jews.. and (lapsed Catholic) practice Buddhism. Some just use the Yoga part. (I never was lapsed Catholic but I did do Yogo but I don't believe in Buddhism. SO yes. Jewish people actually can self IDENTIFY as a JEW.. but the ORTHODOX JEWS do back it up w/ DNA.
