Mike... My advice for all patients is to avoid white coats and blue lights. Period. The only exception is if one suffers battlefield trauma (car wreck, stabbing, gunshot, chainsaw injury, broken bone, etc.) go to an ER. Amerikan Medicine is good at treating battlefield injuries and little else. ...Not surprising,, as we have been in permanent war-on-something-somewhere my entire life. Our vaunted healthscare system was responsible for somewhere between 250K and 900K deaths a year depending on what research one accepts (from pharma, mal/dis-practice by providers, etc.) PRIOR to the COVID Wars. The annual death toll now must be way over a million a year in the US. Cops kill a mere 1800-2000 citizens a year. Perhaps this is why they need more military weapons so they can compete with the medical practitioners.
Stephanie... Thanks for the kind comments. Paramedics are so under-appreciated and unsupported... Depressing.. My son was a Para and I lost him to PTSD back in 2012. "Coulda, woulda, shoulda" still haunts me...
It is hard to beat old time CHF meds like digitalis and diuretics, but they must be carefully monitored and I am sure you two know how. There are probably many Chinese med herbs that can help with this (and, Ayurvedic).
Paramedics are particularly susceptible to PTSD, IMO, as most (like most MDs) I am convinced are traumatized before they ever go into the field (trauma creates very empathetic, sympathetic sensitive people who want to help others - sacrificially!). It is vitally important to recognize the role life trauma plays in the physical and deal with it by balancing the autonomic nervous system (cannabis is a great herd for this - just CBD does wonders) and good talk therapy with a trauma therapist. Proud of you for standing strong... Best to your partner!
God bless you... MDs are not the best parents in my experience... Learn too little too late in the quest for parchment to decorate the office... I was not the best early in life... did better with my daughter!
Medics using anesthetics IS a thing. The cops often are involved pushing this crap, too. Many recent cop-related deaths can be linked to police pushing for sedation of a restrained prisoner/patient. "They" - all of "Them" - see determined to kill us... Peace and Hope!

Outstanding article and outstanding garden box! What a beaut! Your creative woodcrafting is a gift and talent! Please let me know when yalls schedule will permit time for a commissioned birdhouse for my local Carolina warblers. Thanks for tellin us what's goin on!
Mike, please keep writing and building a beautiful garden and telling us about the insanity with your unique style that keeps me sane. I wish you were my neighbour. Halas, I’m in cookoo land in BC... I hate the fucking Kanada every day a little more.
Gotta love TV guide. That page you showed tv listings for in the 5pm hour had Bewitched with Willie Mays, the "Say hey kid". Well, I think Willie, one of my fovorite basebalk players of all time, is the only one still alive from that episode. From what I can tell, Willie is the oldest Hall of Famer still alive at age 91 or 92. I couldnt find his vax status, but my guess is that he said "Say hey, what the fuck do I need that for."
You could probably find someone on e-bay willing to buy your 7-11 cup collection. I have a sealed box of Wheaties from 1985 with Pete Rose on the front, as well as various other Pete Rose cards. Go Big Red Machine! Let Pete into the Hall of Fame!
Yeah, I saw Willie McCovey and Bobby Bonds (Barry's dad) at Candlestick. Missed Mayes, since my first Giants game I went to was in about 73 or 74, when he was sent to the Mets.
My children built two of our garden boxes with the help of their step-grandfather some eight years ago. They are still interested in growing stuff in their own box, but last year was a disappointment. The younger one had physalis that he did not like the taste of, and in the other box we had carrots that got dug up by something. The rat? Our dog? A bunny? We are not sure.

"So they can compete with the medical practitioners," ha, ha, ha. Good solid advice.

Hey Mike,
Faithful reader. First time commenter.
I would absolutely LOVE to be the proud owner of one of your free bumper stickers!
If the offer is genuine....how do l privately send you my mailing address?
Or, better yet, can l send you a self-addressed, stamped envelope to defray your cost? Where would l send it?

They will be heading your way on Monday. Hopefully not on a train.
I hope not. Email me if it doesn't show up.

Love, hugs and persevere yall!
Thanks Miss M.
P.S. yet ANOTHER black vehicle with a V.R.R. sticker?!
Coincidence? I think not!
You are so very welcome! Happy to share.
I love Mike's logo with the grim reaper!
He's a fantastic gardener, and it's an absolutely beautiful garden!
Love, hugs and persevere!
Those sunflowers made my heart sing! Ghost Garden is STUNNING. Love your writing and relatability. Thank you, Mike.

Thanks Natalie. It's my goal to keep writing until at least this F-ing war is over.
I thought carrying 10k on an airplane would get you cuffed and stuffed by those incredibly brave TSA agents we hear so much about?
Is Steve trying to set people up for arrest?
Maybe he's helping to pimp cryptocurrency (no auto suggest for CC)?
Ok, back to finishing the article.
You're right. How did he get on the plane with $10k? I'm also baffled by the position the photo was taken. Billionaires don't sit with us.
The guy wears eye makeup too. Unless you're gay or a rock star, you really shouldn't wear eye makeup.

Also Willie McCovey was on the team playing first base. Died in 2018

David I did notice Willie on Bewitched. I saw him play when I was around seven in San Francisco. My first baseball game.
Yeah, I saw Willie McCovey and Bobby Bonds (Barry's dad) at Candlestick. Missed Mayes, since my first Giants game I went to was in about 73 or 74, when he was sent to the Mets.
My dad met Willie Mays in an elevator in SF in the 70s however. Small world!
Your garden looks like a nice sheltered spot, but who's that hiding in the shrubbery.
Andy
BTW, how do we pay the 15c for today's VRR.
Excellent question. Let’s pretend we didn’t see it.
That's a good defence.
