If you actually read some of Marx & Engels works, they critique the governing systems that steal lives/wages from workers (as you deplore) in a deadly cruel, physically unsafe & unfairly compensated industrialized, capitalist system from the 18th-19th centuries i.e. rapidly industrializing European countries at the time.

Imo the only way we can understand our current economic, financial system is by studying history & learning how we are systematically controlled.
