Owls should be respected. My parents raised some orphaned barn owl hatchlings when I was a child in our garage. They were quiet, grew up, then flew away. They were survivors.
I almost got a chance to raise a baby crow. My wife took it to a bird sanctuary. They told her to take it back. I argued it’s flight wings are weeks away. It was killed. I refuse to listen to anymore experts.
I had a strange experience with an owl last month. I went outside to walk to the gym just after dark. A large bird flew over my head by only a few feet and landed in a nearby tree. It said hoo. I walked a few hundred yards to the gym and the owl followed me and kept saying hoo. I went into the gym and worked out for an hour. When I came out again I heard the owl say hoo and it followed me back home. It kept hooting at me and I went inside and did some research on owls. Only the second time in my life that I've even seen an owl. Both in the last year here in Austin, Tx.
That is for a future write up. However last night a barred owl was out front--time 1:34am, but by the time I got my recorder he stopped. I let the recorder run for 10 minutes. When I stopped the recorder and got back into bed he started again. Repeat again. I finally gave up. He was messing with me.

That’s great. I’d say there’s a message coming your way. Buy Mikes book. You will find it fascinating.
October 8, 2022 recorded a barred owl in a tree in my garden. Time 3:55am. I’ve never recorded an owl on my property. What’s the message?
