So many good train songs Mike! My ring tone has played the intro to "Passage to Bangkok" since the pandemic started. I've had a couple supernatural occurences associated with the band Rush over the years. RIP Neil Peart!

So a better word might be mystical, I think. Both instances were associated with "Fly by Night". The album with the owl on the front cover.

I moved from Northern CA to the Puget Sound in 1981. I was a HS teenager well versed in all 60s and 70s Rock n Roll, or so I thought. I soon met someone in HS who had similar interests in music. He turned me on to Rush, which for some reason, I had not been exposed to. We listened to 2112 one day, and It blew my mind. I was hooked.

After that, I started buying Rush albums. The first one was "Fly by Night." The day I brought it home, I put side B on the turn table, expecting to hear Fly by Night (FBN) and got something totally different. I flipped the album, and still no FBN. Wtf! Turns out I had a misprint. FBN album that plays "Caress of Steel"

Fast forward to 2018, after decades of Rush appreciation and multiple concert visits, I had another Fly by Night encounter.

In early 2018 my Cardiologist basically told me I had better change my life style or I wasnt going to be around for more than about 10 years.

The Doctor was all about taking more BP pills, statins and eliminating alcohol. He didnt say a thing about excercise.

After that visit I made a commitment to lose 40 pounds through exercise, just to see how it would affect my blood pressure.

So I embarked on the journey to lose the weight, and had to change my lifestyle to do so. This included carving time or making time in my schedule to burn an extra 1000 calories per day.

Im a middle aged guy, so high impact excercise was out. This left me with aerobic walking.

So in order to get in the steps in per day, I had to get up early for neighborhood walks. Thats where the 2nd FBN experience came in.

One early morning in April of 2018 around 4am I was walking up through a residential neighborhood while listening to, yes, "Fly by Night," when two large owls took flight across my path. That sent chills down my spine and left a mark. Many people think that the song is about changing your life and making a new start.

By the end of that year I had lost 45 pounds, and to this day I'm still down 35 pounds from my Max weight. My blood pressure is normal but the damn AMA doctors still don't want me to come off of the meds. I'm gonna fire them and seek out a naturopath this year (New years resolution)!

Epoch Times just did an article on BP. They are thinking they can bump up the numbers. Maybe 140/90 isn’t pre-hypertension. Maybe they’ve been over prescribing meds. Thanks for sharing that.

Neat story; glad to read about your health journey & about Rush, too. FBN will be playing in my head today! Yes, please find that naturopath/different doc. My husband got off all meds they were pushing, and doing even better without them. Of course they don’t want you to come off those meds.....who profits when you’re healthy? 🙌🏼

Did you have weight problems in high school?

No, it was quitting smoking in my later years that triggered weight gain. BP has always been a problem, but daily excercise, in my case, helps alot.

Thank you for the information on Paxlovid. I had no idea. I know several people who’ve taken it and swear by it. I won’t touch that garbage.

I love your train recording…so fascinating. Recently, while cleaning out a bedroom, I was on the floor sorting books. At the opposite end of the room was our stereo - a receiver, LP player and 2 huge speakers. Hadn’t played it in months. Out of nowhere, the receiver came blaring on at full blast. It was the AM band, which we never played -it’s only used for playing LP’s. It was all just white noise - in between stations, and LOUD. Scared the shit out of me but I figured it’s probably one of my dead parents popping in to say hello. All good.

On another note, a Bigfoot sighting was reported in Pennsylvania this week. It was deemed “credible”. Never in our entire lives have my husband or I believed in this stuff……well, until we watched the latest season of Unsolved Mysteries on Netflix. Episode called “Paranormal Rangers”. Two retired Navaho cops who were assigned to the paranormal/UFO desk investigated - and took very seriously - all Bigfoot/UFO sightings. Bottom line, and their best explanation for all the paranormal activity around us all, is that there are multiple dimensions with portals that beings can enter through. They believe Bigfoot lives in one of these dimensions and crosses over from time to time. They experienced otherworldly beings as well. The jury’s still out on Bigfoot for me but it has made for some lively conversations over the dinner table.

Thanks C. I think the belief that Bigfoot is extraterrestrial is closer to the truth. It's believed that ET's drop them off to gather information and then pick them up again and do a download of some sort or these beings can simply exit our dimension as you refer to. The ET's suddenly appearing in peoples homes is another example of them possibly being inter-dimensional. Nice coincidence her because I'm working on an article on ET's. One time the spirits turned on my stereo in my garage at full volume around 1am. It was fun.

That’s so fascinating. I’ll look forward to that article. We’ve had the odd light turn on, our garage door open on its own - there always seems to be an electrical component. We’re all charged beings I suppose. BTW , I thoroughly enjoyed your “Break on Through” vid last week. That one made me smile.

Thanks C. I once had a kitchen outlet catch on fire. My back was to it while I was sipping a cup of tea at 5:15am. On another occasion there was an electrical short that cut power to half of my house. I had an electrician check it and he could find no reason why the lights were out. While he was there they started working again. I told the spirits stop F'ing things up that cost me money. The electrical nonsense stopped.

Behind all this is the idolatrous belief there are killer viruses responsible for an alleged "pandemic." The invented "emergency" was designed to roll out the gene-altering vaccines in order to "save" us from this phony modern-day plague. Ironically it's the treatment (i.e. the "vaccines') now causing the excessive mortality which is blamed on the virus. In essence the government is arguing that the "emergency" justifies the suppression of freedom of speech! This is what happens when religious fanatics (with mainstream "science" being the new religion) have taken over the government.
