Despite the huge number of credible witness sightings and personal experiences, the academics wave their hand and discount the whole body of such as "anecdotal" and make the assertion that aliens are more intelligent than humans, therefore the topic of aliens must be approached with science and contact made "in the language of science".
Ok, so let's think about that. If aliens are super-intelligent beings, then why wouldn't they figure out
an appropriate common language VS. demanding that humans (using the language of science" eg. the use of prime numbers or the fine structure constant etc...) demonstrate our level of achievement.
Parents don't wait for their children to evolve to the point of post graduate levels of math and science, before they communicate with them, ,,do they?
So, the same would hold for ETIs.

It's characterized by insatiable greed, destruction of the environment, and
craving for human flesh. Sounds real enough to me. Sounds like a viral mass psychosis leading to constant wars and genocides. As we know from vampire legends, once the bats get out of the belfry
they spread out and convert ever more ordinary people into their unholy culture. But the real reason they don't disclose aliens and alien contact is probably that they would be disclosing their own crimes
and sins.
