What a beautiful (and somewhat edible) little paradise you've created!
My front garden beds are ugly because we have to make them deer-proof with a sturdy wood-and-metal cover. They loved the "free salad bar" last summer😭. I startled a 6-point buck who was knee-deep in the bed of kale/chard/spinach/lettuce just after midnight last July. He took two mighty prong-leaps onto the neighbors driveway and we had a stare-down for about 20 seconds until I yelled, "You're welcome." He trotted away, clearly satisfied that I admitted losing that battle. This year, he will have another two points on his rack, but one less salad bar. Of course, this work-around destroys the beautiful native landscape that we paid a million dollars to have done. But, food is important, too.
My back yard is a collection of random potted tomatoes and herbs, plus four gifted bell peppers plants that I nearly let die in their little plastic starter-pots until I planted them in a raised bed last Sunday. I think they'll survive.
Side note: My husband teaches a 6-week online ukulele course, and the next one is scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 15 at 9:00AM Pacific Time. He is a world-class musician and a fabulous teacher with a goofy sense of humor. Here is a video excerpt of one of his previous classes, with his contact information in the description:
Thanks Sharine. I’m a garden junkie. Hopefully we have a great grow season with numerous garden parties. Your husband teaches the ukulele? I’ll need to hook up for a class. I haven’t started yet. I have two damaged digits on my left hand so need to see if strings will even work. I watched the video. It was great, already learning. Thanks for your insightful comments.
I can definitely see what a garden junkie you are! It's a beautiful space that can only be created by a true artist with a bit of OCD, and I mean that lovingly, haha.
Ron is also a board-certified music therapist! The condition of your left hand is something that he can help with: That's part of his expertise. You could just call him to chat about your situation before making any kind of commitment to the class. He would welcome you. I have already told him about you!
Excellent. I thought the only way I'll have any chance to play a string instrument would be to work with someone such as your husband. I don't have time at the moment. I have a couple major projects that I have to get done, but the instrument is sitting in my office and reminds me daily, ISN'T IT TIME? Can you email me so I have your contact information. michaelhuggins50@gmail.com
Looking good!!! My garden is quite small but growing things makes me happy. Getting into Herbology so I can make my own healing tinctures. Never been one to take their meds. F them to the moon and back!
Your garden is looking soooo good! We don’t have the statues in our garden. But lots of critters have been checking out the raised beds. Deer, cats, dogs, turkeys, birds and others. So many supervisors! 🤣🐾🦉
Your song rocks. I can think of a few good Pink Floyd melodies from The Wall album that could fit with it, like "In the Flesh", "Goodbye Blue Sky", "The Trial"
😍 Beautiful! 😍
Some how I missed this beautiful comment.
😱😂
Nice garden Mike! Are your raised garden beds on top of the block walkway and what type of lumber are you using? Thanks for your work!
Yes. I try to use free cedar boards that everyone discards. I love cedar. I make doors, frames, clocks and more out of it and it looks so 1865-ish.
Beautifully done !
Thank you.

Ahh, the wheel, ties it all together, I think.
