I have an aluminum bat next to the front door. Stun guns are supposedly illegal now in Illinois, the kind that you hold directly to an attacker to disable them. I plan to buy one anyway, have it shipped to my sister in Texas, so she can forward it.
There are high-powered sling shots, and one can still buy a repeater BB pistol that uses a CO2 cartridge. ( aim for the eyes ).

Washington state is going to have to get up prretty early in the morning if it wants to out Commie Minnesota. We have a bill going forward that will make hate or bias "incidents" , which aren't quite a crime, yet will be entered into a state data base of sinners. The examples given are claiming that Covid came from China, or wearing a JK Rowling T-shirt. Wearing the wrong T-shirt will be referred to the proper legal team, which will determine if it violates anti-hate bias regulations.
