Fantastic Post!!!! They are amazing creatures...all animal life is particularly precious, to me, anyway...and you are the Crow Whisperer! It's so typical that the so-called experts are clueless...at best. Right across the board (bored)
It's been very dry down here in TX - between the weather weapon spankings, of course - and I bought a cheap solar fountain for the pool - took it outside and set up some makeshift bird baths and was suddenly swarmed with dragonflies! Huge ones too...they love the cheap solar fountain! So I had a conversation with a huge one who was fluorescent blue and green - just gorgeous - and very curious about me. We had a great chat! So, looking online to find out how to attract them, etc., I found that just one can eat hundreds of mosquitos a day...! I knew they ate them, but I didn't realize the quantity...our yard will be a full-on perpetual banquet! I will be doing my best to attract them from now on...!!! I too, need this awesome nature distraction...!!!
Universities need to stop traumatizing animals. They aren’t learning anything new. Same re-hashed over bs and what they are learning isn’t all that meaningful. They are doing it to pad their wallet. They won’t learn anything of value while the animal is in a trauma situation. Idiots.
I love dragonfly’s. I chase them around all summer for a photo. Only got one so far. They can turn 90 degrees going 30mph. These bugs are incredibly fast when they want to be. Thanks for the comment.
I know...the animal experiments kill me...I want to put Fauci's head in a cage and let the sand flies eat it, while jabbing his ass like an overachieving accupuncurist...and yes, it's all about money. Remember that Fauci was testing new vaccines to turn monkeys trans? And Musk has killed hundreds with his fukking Neuralink...monsters...all of them...
Back to nature and natural law...Thanks for reminding me of the wonders of the natural world...
Hi Ellen. You have the crow lady. She came to work for Metro and we got to talk crows. I told her about Rex and she told me she’s never had a personal relationship with a crow. She said they won’t even go on her property. But if she drives down the road the word gets out. If she goes to the grocery store she comes out to 30 crows perched on it. Metro also banned her from feeding the crows. She said she’s been interviewed at least 100 times by the media. She believes the crows are telepathic. I think they are too.
w0w, taa ! for the candid camera black beauty pics, Mike...btw, y'all can call this ol'mechanic a birdbrain anytime & there's a pint in it for you for the compliment...cheers
Thanks for sharing this, Mike. I don't often get the time to comment, but I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your musings and contemplations of the world we're living in...and out of. I also love the corvids, such cool birds! Take care and keep the fire burning..
Wonderful crow stories! I think you're right about capturing crows for experiments.......a very artificial situation.
"Our" crow---we named him Jake, has a sweetheart. Have heard him (it's rare) make soft cooing sounds with her, almost like a very soft meow. In the spring, they have babies, though we have not seen the nest. They use our backyard birdbath as a fridge. Jake brings animal parts (from snakes, bunnies, baby birds, but also this year, a package of Ramen noodles) to store up for them and the hungry babies. It can be kind of disgusting to see, but we leave it, because they end up eating it all. When the babies have left the nest, we'll see them in the yard, and the need for the birdbath "fridge" ends.
Wonderful photos, beautiful, love them, love your crows. Great information about them.
I cannot allow myself to be sad long about losses. I cannot take the psychic pain anymore.
I give thanks for all the good, all the beauty, all the knowledge, all those in the fight against evil.
Have a blessed weekend MIke.

I love Corvids. They see and know everything and are very discerning. Their presence in your garden, and their acceptance of you, is a high Honor.

I’m overloaded in coincidence. So interesting. Fun too
