I homeschooled my kids, now 27 and 33, when it was not popular at all. My neighbors looked at me like I had 3 heads. We lived in one of the top school districts in our state. The school wanted to put my oldest on Ritalin when he was in the 3rd grade. I said EFF YOU, took him out and never looked back. My younger son never stepped foot in a school. He got into Swarthmore College (liberal monsters - I can’t believe we gave our $$ to them. They are requiring boosters. Bastards.) and then into University of Pennsylvania grad school. (Again, miserable EFF-ers are requiring boosters.) My son graduated before covid. Both my kids remain UNVAXXED.
I hope your kids homeschool your little granddaughter. What a gift it is to give a child. If they can’t do it, you can do it. Lots of grandparents homeschool these days. I always volunteer at Homeschool Day at a local national park near our house. Well, this year we had 2,000 kids show up!! Homeschooling is exploding. When talking to parents at the event, they all said the same thing - schools suck, vaccines/mandates ain’t happening in my house, and there’s no way I’m masking my kid. My husband and I just finished watching “Untold - The Race of the Century”. New on Netflix. The guy who came up with the winning keel design for the boat had just 3 years of formal education in a public school - no college. He just spent his time in nature, studying flights of birds and came up with a keel that looks like a bird’s wing. That design is still used in boat racing to this day. Genius is never found in a classroom! By the way, if you have Netflix, watch it! It’s very inspirational.
