Three hippies showed up while I was there. We talked about Jimi while I sipped my beer. The lead hippie stretched out his hand and said, "My name is Mike." He told me he is from Nevada City Ca. He said the music scene there is non-stop off the charts. I looked up the town. Really cool looking place. I need to go there.
I have been thinking about the number 3, it is very important, yes. Usually if I can remember the 3 things I need from the store, a few more easily follow. Of course, the 3 magis, the 3 bases, the 3 little pigs. The 3 things I need to do tomorrow. The 3 most important things, water, shelter and food. Or is that shelter, water and food?
On the anniversary of my wifes passing, I visited the hospice where she had died. It was a beautiful day in mid August. As I walked the grounds, I found a bench on a hill with a view of her room. I sat down and gazed down at room 13. There was a burning candle on the window sill, so someone else had just passed. As the time ticked to that exact moment Mary passed, a breeze picked up. I felt her spirit at that moment. It was no coincidence. On my drive home, I ruminated about what had just happened. I turned on the radio, and of course, "The Wind Cries Mary" was playing.
My deepest condolences to you. I am sure she was hovering near you. I also had a year which almost equaled 1993 when I lost my brother and mother three months apart; That is one of the reasons I really look forward to 2024. I knew it was coming but I had ALMOST forgotten (one never forgets the pain of the loss of a beloved family or friend) this year I was given the full dose of loss. I do hope you will have the best year that you can have next year. Best. Isabell
She was telling her it would be okay. When my dad died, I was thinking hard about what happened to us after we died. The night before his funeral, after everyone else was already in bed, I know I felt his presence and our two dogs got up and were wagging their tails wildly. It's all good.
My husband, Robbie, and I watched a documentary or a bio-pic about Harry Houdini. Houdini and his wife agreed, no matter who crossed over first, they would attempt to communicate with the living spouse.
Robbie and I excitedly vowed to do the same. Years went by, and Robbie crossed over after 12 years of severe health issues. November 6th was 7 years without him here physically. But I see his birthday, our anniversary dates, and 11/6 all of the time. And I will always respond by saying Happy Birthday Robbie, or Happy Anniversary baby. I think he's keeping our pledge to communicate to me from the other side. It's really special though when I see his birthday including the year!
I ordered a patio set for the front porch before Halloween. After I bought and paid for it, I noticed his birthday numbers were all together in the item number of the patio set.
On black Friday I splurge on some speakers from Costco online. The
number of truck that delivered the speakers was Robbie's entire birthday, including the year.
The VIN number of the used car I bought after Hurricane Ida has his full birthday, including the year, all next to each other.
It's often with his entire birthday. Often the numbers are all together.
Sometimes in exact order!!! he signs are there. Every single day I see his birthday month and day somewhere. It's downright freaky spooky sometimes.
(On a side note to Jacqueline's comment above, Robbie always said that 3 was a magic number.)

Happy New Year 2024; I found some of my photos when I visited Seattle.. and also I did visit the Jimi Hendrix Rock and Roll museum. I won't post the photos but I may do a Jimi Hendrix special post one day. My brother loved Hendrix too and he did a portrait of him. cool right? I didn't know that until about 15 years ago when a friend did a website dedicated to moi. lol. using that song. I thought I heard them all. Hendrix hated Band of Gypsies because his guitar was so out of tune. IMHO it's some of the best playing he ever did. My friend was at this show but he drank too much and doesn't remember it. How messed up is that? Played in some bands with Buddy Miles' guitar player Anthony Steele. 2 degrees of separation. The talent didn't rub off. Oh well. Played with Joe Cocker's guitar player too. That didn't help either Da Xiao!

A few days before my wife died, she talked about being visited by her mother on the other side, just outside her window.
Her mother died eight years earlier a block or two away.
