I added Rudolph Isley’s name to the list of growing deceased singers, song writers, musicians, rock stars in 2023 and the year isn’t over. I think I’ll add Timmy Thomas’s name since he died in 2022. Maybe they took him out—vaxx. Who knows but his song, Why Can’t We Live Together is worth it on its own, to me anyway. After I added Rudolph’s name a big Coopers Hawk flew down and perched at the top. I raced into the house for my phone. I’m thinking what a photo if I can get it. NOT. I got him on the fence.
Pictures below were taken on September 5th.
Old cedar boxes I made held up good. See the middle box. I just got seven sections of old cedar fence boards. I pressure washed them and will stain them with boiled linseed oil and probably replace a few others. Although I want to build some cool ghost gates. Do both.
A frog moved into the Das Blumen Haus for a month. He let me know when he needed water.
Maybe next year we can get a chickadee to lease it.
I did have a mole war for a while to add to my other wars.
Mole won….again.
My rose bed. My new JFK only produced a couple sets of roses and then stopped for some reason. What does that tell us?
Usually the back drop is covered with beans. They wouldn’t grow this year. Only a couple. I’m guessing old beans. On the far left I trellised a pumpkin vine.
More pumpkins.
Kale will grow all winter. If you eat your kale you won’t go to hale. That’s in the Bible somewhere.
I didn’t plant any tomato plants this year because they plant themselves.
My mother-in-law’s birdhouse. In memory of her. She died in 2016. She loved the garden.
Look, no chemtrails. Miracle. Willie’s Reserve, and he’s still alive. It must be really good for living a long healthy life. I speculate. Add in a lot of good whiskey too.
I never got the dragonfly pictures I wanted but damn I tried. A few other insects.
Climbing up Willie.
Hanging out on Willie.
My rocker where I do some of my garden talks. And my most strategic thinking. That is an authentic prisoner ball and chain. Where’s RocHELLe? Does she have one around her ankle yet? Or is she now living in Israel? Willing to donate mine.
Bird House Bar, a little out of focus, but not after you’ve had a few drinks. It looks perfect.
Das ist alles my friends for Ghost Gardens in 2023. God willing we’ll be growing again in 2024.
Garden talk this morning.
Thank you for the green respite from politics. Your squash is beautiful and Willie is quite handsome!
Funny, you mentioned in your garden talk about your computer losing connection while watching taboo subjects. Same thing happens to me often while researching unpleasant topics. For instance, yesterday I was watching this old Eustace Mullins interview about allopathic medicine, and right when he got to the part about fluorinated water and cancer, I got booted off my router.
