I'm so enjoying this outpouring from you that I'm still scrolling and reading and looking at the pics.

Gorgeous butterfly pics. A swallowtail. When I had my purple coneflowers in front blooming a couple years ago I got some pics of one, and monarchs also.

I am SO glad to know I'm not the only one who catches spiders that are in my house and takes them back outside. Funny thing is that I saw one traversing the wall near where I'm sitting last night, and took it out through the front door. I have a special plastic cup I use. I cover them with it and slide a thin piece of paper or envelope between the surface and the cup, trapping them for easy transfer. They can be fast.

Crazy? No. The last week I have been watching a different kind of spider that has been hanging out just under the kitchen curtain above the corner of the sink. Very tiny body and hair-like legs. Stays right there. The other night it caught a very small moth that had come in when the door was open. I tried to take a pic of it but my camera won't zoom in that close. The spider is still there. I talk to it when I'm in the kitchen doing dishes.

I have thoughts about the bird stories too, later. And the wine.

Mike... Another keeper! I have always been a critter guy - even earned a degree in Zoology (an extinct profession, it appears) before being pulled down the rabbit hole of Medicine. Stink Bugs are, BTW, TRUE bugs (defined by their two sets of wings, I think) as opposed to other insects that are mere bug pretenders. Keep up the observations, man...Thanks for your voice.

Thank you Mike for sharing. Gorgeous pictures. The sting bug has beautiful pattern on his back, and the butterfly is so pretty. Your garden is such a beautiful sanctuary.

The Cupcake brand is an awful once I bought it and returned it to the store. Sometimes though you strike it out and get a decent wine on the cheep. Once in a while. Your garden shows that we don't really need so much. Today I was watching a squirrel stealing food from the bird feeder. He was exploring the roof on the green house and peaked on the cat who was sleeping curled up on the shelf inside. Animals are so fun to watch, and I like insects too, spiders are wonderful, always put them outside. Glad you've had some relaxing time and recharged yourself. Much love.

That was a cool post. Great pictures.

Story from our house in PA. Was an old bank barn made into a house. The kitchen, dining room and living room were in line and you could look all the way through. The living and dining room were split by a half wall half way across with a post in the center. One day my wife was in the living room and a dark shadowy shape of a woman in a cloak was moving across the open area toward the half wall, behind, then disappeared into the wall. When she got to the center of the room, she stopped, turned and looked at my wife, then continued. Her elderly aunt, who lived in the area all her life declined a few offers to come visit. My wife called after this and asked what was up. Her aunt said when she was young, a guy and his wife lived there. He came home one day, shot her and hung himself in a tree in the back yard. The next time my wife saw the shape, she asked how she could help her. She disappeared and never came back. There also was a shadowy black cat that would zip around corners and furniture. I saw that. A friend was over one evening and stopped talking in mid sentence. My wife asked if he saw something. He said it looked like a shadowy cat zipping around the corner. I think it came out West with us because we have seen it a few times over the years.

Keep up your research. Very interesting.
